DAY 1
JUNE 2, 2001 - VANCOUVER & EMBARKATION
Sunrise/Sunset: 0511 - 2111

Vancouver, like much of the Pacific Northwest, greeted us with partly cloudy skies and a chilly 55 F (13 C). The sun peeked in and out throughout the day as we readied ourselves to board the Sea Princess between 12 - 3pm. The Sea Princess was docked at Ballantyne Pier; not at Canada Place like we originally thought which was pretty confusing. Anyway, this being my first cruise ever, nothing could go wrong... I was so excited and psyched about the cruise and the whole trip in general!

So we made our way to Ballantyne Pier at 1pm. Checked in. They lost our room keys. Great. Passed through Canadian and US customs & immigration. Uneventful except for the fact that everyone was a US citizen but me so I had to go through this long process of getting my parole papers stamped blah blah. Nothing too exciting. Boarded the ship and WOW! The Sea Princess was truly magnificent.

At around 4:30pm, the Canadian Pilots boarded the ship and at 5:42pm, the final gangways were landed and the final mooring lines were slipped. The ship moved astern off berth. We passed underneath Lions Gate Bridge at 6:02pm and we were well on our way up the Canadian Inside Passage.
